Josie is a writer, director and actor from Somerset, based in London. She has a TV series in development with Hartswood Films (Sherlock), and her feature 'Doom Scroll' was recently selected for Glasgow Film Festival ‘Funny Features’ talent development scheme (supported by BFI Creative Challenge Fund) - both co-written with Nathan Miller.
Her short ‘fishing’ won the Oscar-qualifying Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short at Slamdance Film Festival 2024 and Best UK Short at Bolton International Film Festival, before premiering on ‘Short of the Week’. ‘Blue Violet’ premiered at BFI Flare before playing at SXSW London, Chicago International Film Festival, Fantastic Fest and Hollyshorts. In 2023 she was selected for the Director's UK Inspire scheme, to be mentored by BAFTA-winning director Tom George.
All of her projects ensure at least 50% representation for women, trans and non-binary people in cast and crew.
She trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and the National Youth Theatre, where she is an Emerging Associate.
